Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm in Usk, Monmouthshire require an experienced Explosives Health & Safety Advisor to join their multi-disciplined team. Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for SC security clearance.
What the role of the Explosives Health & Safety Advisor entails:
- Advising on Explosives safety on new and existing processes
- Supporting the delivery of new processes and facilities on site
- Supporting the delivery of Explosive licences
- Communicating and hosting the competent authorities including the HSE and NRW
- Supporting the site deliver the safety report
- Managing a small team of process safety coordinators
What experience you need to be the successful Explosives Health & Safety Advisor:
Essential:
- Proven experience working within an explosives environment, with knowledge of safety, hazards, effects, and licensing
- Knowledge and/or experience working within the explosives industry or other High Hazard/Highly regulated industries including upper tier COMAH
- Considerable understanding of HSE Guidelines (Explosives Regulations 2014, L150 Safety Provisions, L151 Security Provisions)
- Experience managing explosive safety, including writing safety policies
Desirable:
- Working towards or willing to work towards NEBOSH certificate/diploma or equivalent
- Ample understanding of JSP482, DSA OME, AASTP standards
