Static Mechanical Engineer needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in London who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on mechanical assets in the Facilities Management industry.

The successful candidate would need to have a relevant qualification- i.e. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing etc. and have a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering. If you have commercial experience in electrics, including having your 18th Edition that would be a plus!

What the role entails:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical assets (e.g. HVAC, pumps, valves).
  • Conduct legionella control and monitoring activities.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out remedial works independently.
  • Maintain accurate records on CAFM systems (e.g. TotalMobile).
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe systems of work, including use of Permits to Work.
  • Participate in emergency response and out-of-hours cover as part of a rota.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with BS7671 standards for relevant works.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and clients.

What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a Facilities Management environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering Services (City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and CTC clearance (required for specific sites).
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CAFM systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Aware of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • IPAF / PASMA certification.
  • Technical Appointments such as CP - Mechanical or Pressure Systems (CPMPS).
  • Experience working in secure or public sector environments.
