We're looking for an experienced C&I Wire Person / Panel Builder to join a highly technical engineering environment supporting advanced control and instrumentation systems across a major operational facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong panel wiring, assembly and fault-finding experience who enjoys hands-on technical work across both workshop and live plant environments.
As The C&I Wire Person, you'll support the build, maintenance, testing and repair of a wide range of control and instrumentation systems, working closely with engineering and operational teams on complex technical equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out wiring, assembly and panel build activities for C&I systems
- Supporting fault finding and repair work on instrumentation and control equipment
- Building, testing and commissioning electrical cubicles, sub-racks, assemblies and electronic cards
- Performing bench testing and on-site fault finding activities
- Supporting Plant Responsible Officers (PROs) with maintenance and technical tasks
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation and safe systems of work
- Taking ownership of technical delivery and ensuring work is completed safely and accurately
- Undertaking delicate electrical work including thermocouple connections
Experience:
- Apprentice trained with industrial electrical experience
- Experience working on 3-phase power systems within an industrial environment
- Strong panel wiring and control system assembly experience
- C&G 2330 Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology or equivalent
- ONC/HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering also considered
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and schematics
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within highly regulated or technical engineering environments
- Exposure to instrumentation systems and industrial controls
- Fault finding on control panels and electronic assemblies
- Experience producing technical and safety documentation
