About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Engineer to take a pivotal role in the development and delivery of a cutting-edge Sonar system within one of our major product lines. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of complex underwater systems while leading a high-performing engineering team and driving both technical and support solutions. Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to gain is required to be considered for this vacancy.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical leader in the design, development, and delivery of a complex Sonar system.
- Lead the creation and implementation of an effective support contract to sustain system performance over time.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers to ensure successful system production and delivery.
- Own and manage Technical Assessment Forms (TAFs) and ensure robust scope definition for both new and existing work packages.
- Develop and oversee detailed work packages, ensuring appropriate resourcing, planning, and delivery.
- Take full responsibility for the generation and management of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) documentation.
- Contribute to and support safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance as required.
About You: We are looking for a proactive and organised professional who combines strong engineering knowledge with excellent leadership and project coordination skills.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and delivering complex systems.
- Strong understanding of Sonar, maritime systems, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrable experience in developing support strategies or contracts.
- Working knowledge of ILS principles and documentation.
- Familiarity with TAFs and work package management.
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations within engineering contexts.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in defence, naval or underwater systems.
- Chartered Engineer status or working toward it.
- Background in systems engineering or logistic support functions.
