Our client, an established defence engineering firm, require an experienced NVH Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team in Barrow in Furness.
Working on cutting-edge marine systems, you’ll work closely with the Stealth Engineering Test team to create test procedures, analysis methods, and test rigs, and interpret acoustic, electromagnetic, and non‑acoustic measurements of vessel machinery to ensure compliance with stealth requirements.
Support with relocation costs can be discussed and included in an offer package, subject to HR approval.
What the role of the NVH Engineer entails:
- Helping the product meet stealth performance goals by carrying out Noise and Vibration measurements (structureborne, Airborne & fluidBorne) throughout the product lifecycle from equipment prototypes, Factory Acceptance Testing, in build submarine measurements & in service submarine support
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide relevant noise & vibration data to influence and guide design decisions.
- Developing Junior Engineers
- Equipment condition based monitoring and diagnostics assessments – ISO 18436
- Communicating effectively with the ability to coordinate teams
- Grasping technical challenges and spotting opportunities for improvement
- Confidently challenging traditional approaches with an innovative mindset
- Adapting positively to a change in a dynamic environment
What experience you need to be the successful NVH Engineer:
- A STEM background (science, technology, engineering, or maths)
- Proficiency in at least one acquisition software (e.g. Siemens LMS, HBK Connect etc.) HBK (Bruel & kjaer) Connect acquisition software – or previous versions of Pulse/labshop
- Detailed Knowledge of noise and vibration measurement techniques and data analysis
- The ability to discuss technical findings to stakeholders of various technical backgrounds
Candidates would need to hold British nationality and have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for SC security clearance.
