We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Specialist to join our team in supporting supplier operations within the aerospace sector. This is a site-based role located at a supplier facility in Cheltenham that manufactures electrical distribution panels for wide-body aircraft.
The successful candidate will work closely with Supplier Quality Representatives to perform First Article Inspection (AS9102) and product verification activities, ensuring full compliance with aerospace quality standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) reviews and product verifications
- Conduct source inspections on aerospace electrical and electronic assemblies
- Plan and conduct audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes, and products
- Document and report audit/inspection outcomes and follow up on corrective actions
- Support investigations of rejected products, failures, and escape notifications
- Evaluate supplier capability and capacity for current and future work scopes
- Monitor and support continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier site
- Deliver training and guidance to suppliers to enhance compliance and performance
- Strong understanding of aerospace electronics
- Inspection experience, particularly in electrical assemblies
- Audit and quality assessment capabilities
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or equivalent education and experience
- Demonstrable experience in auditing and quality assessments
- Hands-on skills in inspecting electrical wiring and circuitry
- Familiarity with ISO9001 or AS9100 quality standards
- Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies
- Effective communicator at all levels of a business
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Master's degree in engineering or related technical field
- Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection standards
- Experience working in or auditing aerospace manufacturing environments
- Ability to conduct audits of supplier quality management systems
- Proven track record in supplier development, coaching, and improvement strategies
