We are seeking an experienced LNG Analyst with a deep understanding of the European LNG industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial forecasting, LNG contracts (including MSPAs), freight agreements, shipping cost analysis, and delivery terms such as FOB, DES, and CIF. They must possess strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, coupled with in-depth knowledge of EU market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and key trading hubs.
This role requires a proven track record in managing LNG supply chains, optimizing freight and logistics, and negotiating complex contracts. The candidate should be adept at evaluating market trends, preparing detailed forecasts, and communicating insights effectively to stakeholders.
Main responsibilities:
- Take a leading role in developing the companies market views, processes and models to support gas trading with a specific focus on global LNG markets.
- Work closely with colleagues in the gas analytics team, gas data engineers and gas traders, and other colleagues around the world, to develop models to further the desk’s understanding of short- and medium-term fundamental dynamics for Global and European markets.
- Develop trading ideas based on analysis of fundamentals, statistics and option pricing.
- Maintain a superior level of quantitative rigor in analysis and closely monitor accuracy of analytical output over time.
- Develop tools to monitor market developments and implied gas balances.
- Effectively communicate views and findings to gas traders and analysts, and to other traders, analysts and management.
- Willingness to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions – the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be subject to change!
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in energy commodities, with a strong understanding of LNG markets, including knowledge of LNG contracts.
- Experience from working on a trading desk would be ideal.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and other quantitative techniques.
Technical requirements:
- Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics or equivalent experience or relevant real-world experience.
- Knowledge of LNG contracts.
- Advanced skills in a combination of Excel, SQL, Python and statistics.
