An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planning Engineer with strong Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) experience to join an established, busy contractor with a strong presence across the South West. This is a key regional role, taking the lead on planning across a portfolio of projects throughout Devon and Cornwall, supporting both tender and live delivery teams.
You will play a pivotal role throughout the full project lifecycle, from early tender involvement and programme development through to project delivery, commissioning and completion. Working closely with project managers, commercial teams and site teams, you will help drive programme certainty, manage risk and ensure successful project outcomes across a diverse range of schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the planning function across multiple projects within the South region
- Produce, maintain and update detailed tender and contract programmes using Asta Powerproject
- Support bid teams at tender stage, developing robust methodologies, phasing plans and resource-loaded programmes
- Work closely with delivery teams during construction to monitor progress, identify risks and mitigate delays
- Manage programme change, including variations, delay analysis and reporting in line with contractual requirements
- Coordinate M&E interfaces with wider construction programmes
- Provide clear, accurate progress reports to project teams and senior management
- Proven experience as a Senior Planning Engineer within a UK main contracting environment
- Strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) planning within construction projects
- Demonstrable experience working across the full project lifecycle, from tender through to completion
- Advanced user of Asta Powerproject
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and M&E interfaces
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence project teams and stakeholders
- Well organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple projects concurrently
- Β£70-90,000 per annum
- Annual car allowance Β£7,000
