Job Title: Senior/Principal Systems Engineer
Location: Loudwater
Salary: £DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting the development and delivery of complex systems within a technically demanding environment.
The role will involve working across the full systems lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to integration, verification, validation and in-service support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
- Develop, manage and maintain clear, traceable system requirements.
- Develop system architectures and manage system/subsystem interfaces.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across software, electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Support system integration, verification, qualification and formal validation activities.
- Work closely with customers and stakeholders to manage requirements, technical queries and change.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and engineering best practice.
- Support lifecycle, maintenance and in-service requirements.
- Maintain requirements, configuration and change control using appropriate engineering tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, tools and best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in systems engineering and requirements management for complex systems.
- Experience with requirements management tools and maintaining requirements traceability.
- Understanding of system integration, verification and qualification.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience working with sensitive information and appropriate security practices.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
Desirable
- Defence or aerospace engineering experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering work packages.
- Jira / Agile experience.
- Jama Connect experience.
- MBSE experience.
- Experience with electronic/electrical systems.
- ILS, reliability or availability engineering experience.
- Experience supporting formal system testing, integration and qualification.
- Knowledge of UK MoD security and information assurance.
