An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Estimator to join a leading main contractor at their office in Brighton. The Lead Estimator will quickly become an integral part of the Estimating Team, overseeing the pricing of projects that include major refurbishments and construction of waste water treatment plants, pumping stations and water storage sites.
Reporting directly to the Pre-Construction Lead, the Lead Estimator's main responsibilities will include:
- Leading the full estimating function across various projects including the management of a multi-discipline team (including all civil, mechanical and electrical estimating)
- Working closely with the Head of Estimating to manage estimating resources across the framework
- Preparing accurate estimates at all stages of a project including feasibility and concept through to detailed designs
- Undertaking technical and commercial reviews of material and subcontractor quotes, ensuring full coverage of the scope is priced in
The Lead Estimator will need to have previously worked as a Senior Estimator for a large civil engineering contractor with projects in the UK. You'll need to be familiar with civil engineering methods of measurement, an excellent communicator and a good team player. Estimators familiar with the 'Candy' Estimating software will be at an advantage.
The Lead Estimator will be offered a role that includes excellent career prospects, hybrid working and a generous salary & package that includes:
- Starting salary of £80,000 to £100,000
