An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Planning Engineer to join a leading specialist MEP contractor based in Birmingham. They will join an established team who are responsible for delivering a strong pipeline of exciting projects across the region including student accommodation, industrial, commercial and residential schemes.

As an Assistant Planning Engineer, you will support an experienced Senior Planner across a range of live and pre-construction projects. This is a development-focused role offering structured mentoring, hands-on project exposure, and genuine career progression.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Planner with MEP knowledge or experience along with some planning experience to join a highly experienced and growing team.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience within the construction industry, ideally with a main contractor
  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) knowledge or experience
  • Some planning experience (site-based or office-based)
  • Working knowledge of Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • A desire to develop into a fully-fledged Planner
