Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in construction, estates, and complex stakeholder environments? We’re supporting a leading UK defence and technology organisation in the search for a Senior Project Manager to deliver high-value, strategically important estate projects within a secure and technically advanced environment.
This is an opportunity to work on projects that genuinely matter — ranging from large-scale refurbishments to technically complex new-build construction — supporting critical maritime and land capabilities.
The Role
You’ll take full responsibility for delivering a portfolio of estates and construction projects (c. £5m+ per annum), ensuring commitments to internal and external stakeholders are met across a diverse and complex delivery landscape. Projects range from general building refurbishments through to highly technical infrastructure and new-build developments within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager:
- Lead delivery of high-value and complex construction/refurbishment projects
- Manage stakeholder relationships across multiple customers, partners, and suppliers
- Define and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans
- Maintain accurate reporting and project documentation (bids, proposals, third-party documentation)
- Apply robust risk management and quality control processes
- Ensure safe, secure, and compliant project execution
Essential Experience as a Senior Project Manager:
- Delivery of projects for multiple customers (up to 3 concurrently)
- Construction/refurbishment delivery aligned to RIBA stages
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standards, environmental & ecological legislation
- Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
- Extensive experience operating under CDM Regulations, acting as Client or similar duty holder
- Broad understanding of civil engineering, infrastructure, and building works methodologies
Essential Qualifications:
- Recognised Project Management qualification (APM PPQ or PRINCE2)
- Demonstrable capability equivalent to IPMA Level B
