Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, require an experienced IPC 620 Electrical Inspector to join their multi-disciplined team.

Candidates would need to have lived and worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS and SC security clearance. IPC 620 experience is essential due to programme requirements. Applicants without this experience will be discounted.

What the role of the Electrical Inspector entails:

  • Product testing for conformance, which includes typical tests such as continuity, bonding, resistance.
  • Programming and use of ATEs is very desirable.
  • Adherence to work instructions and managing non-conforming products is required.
  • Work consists of high volume electrical cable manufacturing as well as one-off or investigation work.
  • You are required to work to IPC610 and 620 standards.

What experience you need to be the successful Electrical Inspector:

  • IPC620 – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.
  • Understanding and handling of ESD products.
  • Performing electrical inspection verification by use of measurement hand tools such as Digital Volt Multimeters, Ohmmeters.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
