Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician looking to work on cutting-edge engineering projects in a highly advanced technical environment? We're seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support major shutdown and maintenance programmes on complex mechanical systems within a world-class engineering and research facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled team delivering critical installation, maintenance and upgrade work across vacuum, cooling, pressurised and electro-magnetic systems.

As a Mechanical Technician your duties will include:

  • Carrying out mechanical assembly, maintenance, fault finding and repairs
  • Assisting with installation and commissioning of new systems
  • Producing maintenance and testing documentation, work packs and safe systems of work
  • Supporting complex engineering projects including cooling systems and in-vessel works
  • Supervising fitters, contractors and junior craft personnel where required

Requirements:

  • Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience within an industrial mechanical assembly and maintenance environment
  • Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical interface work
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques
