An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer to join a well-established, independently owned construction consultancy based in Glasgow.
Working alongside an experienced Planning Manager, you will support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across Scotland and the wider region. The consultancy provides planning and project controls expertise across a broad range of sectors including major civil infrastructure, renewables, utilities, rail and energy, offering exceptional exposure to a wide variety of technically challenging projects.

The Role
- As Planning Engineer, you will support the development, management and reporting of project programmes across multiple commissions, working closely with clients, project teams and senior planning professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Supporting the Planning Manager in delivering planning and project controls services across multiple projects.
- Producing programme updates, progress reports and critical path analysis.
- Monitoring project progress and identifying programme risks, opportunities and mitigation measures.
- Assisting with programme reviews, schedule assurance and forensic planning where required.
- Supporting project teams with planning best practice and programme management.
- Working with clients and delivery teams to ensure programmes remain realistic, accurate and aligned with project objectives.
- Contributing to project reporting and presenting programme information to key stakeholders.
- Supporting compliance with NEC contract programme requirements.
About You
- You will be a motivated Planning Engineer with experience gained on UK construction or infrastructure projects and be looking to develop your career within a respected consultancy environment.
- You will enjoy working across a varied project portfolio, building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality planning solutions across multiple sectors.
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a Planning Engineer on UK construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts and programme requirements.
- UK project experience within one or more of the following sectors: civil infrastructure, renewables, utilities, rail or energy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.~
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects within a consultancy environment.
