An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sub Agent to join a major UK main contractor delivering a high profile infrastructure project in West Ruislip, West London. This is a site based role within a complex, heavy civil engineering environment, offering continuity of work on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.
The Role
Reporting into the Project Manager, the Sub Agent will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery of works on site, with a strong focus on engineering coordination, setting out, and supervision of junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Setting out and checking works using Total Station
- Leading, mentoring, and coordinating Engineers and Junior Engineers
- Overseeing reinforced concrete works and associated temporary/permanent works
- Ensuring compliance with HS2 standards, quality procedures, and health & safety requirements
- Supporting planning, progress reporting, and short‑term lookaheads
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer on major civil or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out capability, including hands‑on use of Total Station
- Proven experience managing or mentoring junior engineers
- Solid background in reinforced concrete works
- Experience working for a main contractor on large, complex schemes
This is a 6 month contract opportunity offering a day rate of £500‑600, based on experience. The position is inside IR35 and will be paid via an umbrella company. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long‑term contract on HS2 with a leading contractor and a stable delivery team.
