Rate: £33 - £36 per hour (Inside IR35)

About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Quality Engineer to join a major aviation programme supporting flight test and production activities for advanced fixed-wing aircraft. This role will play a key part in ensuring product quality, airworthiness compliance, and safety assurance during the flight test phase. You’ll work as part of a dynamic Quality team, performing inspections, audits, and non-conformance management in a fast-paced, regulated aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections, audits, and investigations across production and flight test operations.
- Support Non-Conformance management, QA-MRB input, and safety reviews.
- Verify product conformity to design and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and develop quality documentation, work instructions, and audit records.
- Provide specialist oversight for process compliance and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve quality and production issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years\' experience in a production or MRO quality environment within aviation or aerospace.
- Strong knowledge of QMS principles and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Experience with FAA/DCMA or equivalent quality oversight.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of MAA, CAA, or EASA Part 145 / Part 21 regulations.
- Experience in flight testing, production, or line maintenance environments.
- Degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field.
Working Pattern
- Compressed week: 4 days (early/late shifts), off Friday-Sunday.
- 100% onsite at Birmingham Airport, with occasional travel to other UK sites.
