A leading UK civil engineering main contractor is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer or an ambitious Planning Engineer to join their established regional team, supporting the delivery of a large and varied portfolio of infrastructure projects across the North West. This is an excellent opportunity to work on multiple live schemes, gaining broad exposure to complex civil engineering works while playing a key role in supporting project delivery at site level.
The role offers a flexible and varied working week, with time split between the regional office and a number of project sites across the North West. You will work closely with site teams, project managers and commercial teams, providing practical, hands-on planning support throughout the project lifecycle. This position would suit an experienced Senior Planning Engineer or a driven Planning Engineer ready to step up within a well-respected main contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6
- Provide site-based planning support across multiple infrastructure projects
- Produce baseline, target and progress programmes aligned with project requirements
- Monitor progress on site, identify risks and opportunities, and propose mitigation measures
- Support change management, delay analysis and programme impacts under NEC contracts
- Work collaboratively with project, commercial and site teams to ensure accurate planning inputs
- Prepare progress reports, programme narratives and look-ahead schedules
- Strong site-based planning experience gained within a UK main contracting environment
- Background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Proficient user of Primavera P6
- Good working knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with site teams
- Senior Planning Engineer experience or an ambitious Planning Engineer looking to progress
- £60-85,000 per annum
- Car allowance £7,000 per annum
- Annual bonus
