A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planning Engineer to join a successful and expanding consultancy business. You will become part of a growing planning team, supporting key clients on major infrastructure projects across the UK. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of high‑profile schemes and the chance to work in a collaborative, professional consultancy environment that values flexibility and career development.
As a Senior Planning Engineer you will provide expert planning support to clients, developing and managing robust programmes, producing clear progress reporting and advising on best‑practice project controls. You will work closely with client‑side and delivery teams, helping to manage change, mitigate risk and ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual and programme requirements. The role is hybrid, with two days per week in the office, the remainder working remotely, and occasional travel to client offices when required.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6
- Produce baseline, target and progress programmes across multiple infrastructure projects
- Provide planning advice and project controls support to key clients
- Monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Support change management and programme impacts in line with NEC contracts
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards and programme narratives for clients and stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across the UK
- Proven background in planning within a consultancy, client‑side or contracting environment
- Expert‑level knowledge of Primavera P6
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- £70,000 – £80,000 per annum
- Car allowance or Company Car
