General Maintenance Operative needed for a large well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Bromley who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded General Maintenance Operative that takes pride in their work. The successful candidate will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.

What the role entails
Some of the main duties of the General Maintenance Operative will include:
- Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
- Inspect/repair free standing and fitted furniture
- Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
- Inspect/replace lamps/tubes
- Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture
- Legionella duties - tap temps and flushing
- Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signs/notices
- Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
- Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
- Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
- Carry out reactive/Ad-Hoc activities - being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
- Basic general grounds maintenance tasks
What experience you need
Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment. Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques. Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g. tap flushing.
Qualifications
Desirable to have an NVQ (or similar) in one of the below:
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Decorating services
