I am currently working with a major contractor delivering a significant upgrade to a Water Treatment Plant serving the West Midlands. Due to increased project demands, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis to support the commercial delivery of this critical infrastructure scheme. This is a site-based role in Leicester, reporting directly into a Managing Quantity Surveyor and forming a key part of the project's commercial leadership team.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the effective commercial management of the project, ensuring cost control, contractual compliance, and robust financial reporting throughout the delivery phase. Key responsibilities will include:
- Commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account
- Administration and management of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change control
- Cost forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management
- Supporting the Managing QS with commercial strategy and risk management
- Working closely with site, design, and project teams to ensure commercial best practice
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Experience on water or wastewater projects is highly desirable
- Ability to work autonomously in a site-based environment
- Strong stakeholder management and commercial acumen
