The Opportunity

Lead the technical integrity of one of Australia’s largest and most established gold operations.

Join St Ives and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Mineral Resource evaluation, Reserve and Resource reporting, Project Evaluation and Mine to Mill reconciliation that supports safe, sustainable and profitable mining.

Reporting to the Manager Geology, you’ll provide specialist technical expertise across all facets of the geology value stream.

Working closely with Mine Geology, Exploration, Technical Services and Mine Planning teams, you’ll provide technical assurance across site Reserve and Resource delivery, lead the site’s Mine to Mill reconciliation process, and partner with stakeholders to improve geological interpretation, resource estimation and operational performance.

You’ll also coach, mentor geologists, sharing your technical expertise to build capability across the Geology team.

Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles.

Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Provide expert project evaluation and economic analysis to support life-of-mine planning, reserve conversion, feasibility studies and strategic business decisions.
  • Deliver technical expertise and be the site accountable person for Mineral and Resource reporting, ensuring compliance with Gold Fields governance standards and meeting SAMREC and SK1300 reporting standards.

Ensuring L1 assurance for mineral reserve and mineral resource reporting at St Ives working closely with the resource and mine planning functions.

  • Lead the site’s Mine to Mill reconciliation process, driving analysis, reporting and continuous improvement to strengthen geological interpretation, resource estimation and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Exploration, Mine Geology, Technical Services and Mine Planning teams to continuously improve geology workflows, service delivery and reporting processes.
  • Coach and mentor geologists, sharing technical expertise and fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement.
  • Senior Leadership responsibilities within the site geology team
  • What You’ll Bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology or Earth Sciences and a current manual driver’s licence.
  • Extensive experience in Mineral Resource estimation, geological modelling, project evaluation and reporting within underground and/or open pit mining environments.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, with strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • A growth mindset, with strong communication, responsibility and relationship-building skills.
