The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a modern fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.
This role is offered on an 8/6 7/7 days and nights roster, either residential or FIFO from Perth.
For residential employees, daily bus transport to and from site is provided, along with relocation assistance if required.

About the Role
- Carry out preventative and planned maintenance, inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile equipment.
- Apply sound technical knowledge to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, minimising equipment downtime and supporting production targets.
- Perform maintenance activities in accordance with OEM specifications, site procedures and statutory requirements.
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately, including work orders, parts requisitions and labour recording using SAP and other maintenance management systems.
- Order parts and materials required to complete maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with major component replacements and scheduled shutdown work.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and actively contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Assist with the training, mentoring and development of apprentices and trainees.
Skills & Qualifications
- A current C Class Driver's Licence.
- A Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent Heavy Diesel trade qualification.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- The following will be highly regarded
- Experience using SAP or a similar Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Section 26 (S26) Statutory Supervisor Certificate, or a willingness to obtain.
- Experience across a diverse fleet of mining equipment.
- Current High Risk Work Licences and tickets including Forklift, Dogging, EWP, Crane, and Apply First Aid.
