Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Fixed Plant Process Operator to join their Processing department at our iconic St Ives Gold Mine. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for operating the processing plant and associated equipment in a safe, productive and efficient manner, to maximise plant performance without affecting the environment or health and safety of personnel. This role is being offered on an 8:6/7:7 roster. You will be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie. We provide transportation between Kalgoorlie and site. Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles. Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Eligibility and final terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.
What you will be doing:
- Operation of all processing plant equipment relating to Crushing, Grinding, Gravity, Leach, Adsorption, Elution, and Tails Storage Facility.
- Operate the process control systems.
- Identify and diagnose items that require preventative maintenance or repair.
- Maximise plant and equipment efficiency during production.
- Recommend and implement improvements to plant output and efficiency.
- Safely operate IT loader, bobcat, forklift, and power tools.
- Develop and maintain and adhere to procedures to ensure timely, consistent, and efficient execution of mining plans.
About you:
- Previous operating experience in a mineral processing environment.
- Sound knowledge of process technologies and equipment including Citect control system.
- Computing skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
- Possess a valid driver’s licence.
