Ideal role for an experienced Production Engineer

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will be responsible for facilitating the efficient extraction of gold ore by providing effective production planning and scheduling. Develop and manage short- to medium-term plans that achieve production and development targets while maximizing business value and maintaining compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.

Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles. Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Eligibility and final terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage the two-week mine schedule in consultation with key stakeholders, ensuring it aligns with operational capability and supports the achievement of the three-monthly schedule (3MS) objectives.
  • Support the success of the mining operation by working closely with the Senior Mine Production Engineer to drive and achieve planned production and safety targets.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of reporting (Weekly variance reports, Daily reports, performance tracking etc) to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide accurate information on production performance, safety, critical path activities, and high-risk areas to help guide operational planning and priorities.
  • Create competent, consistent and optimal drill and blast designs that account for the most up-to-date economic and geological information.
  • Monitor progress and performance to ensure activities remain aligned with weekly production targets and are completed safely.

What You’ll Bring

  • Have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven underground/surface engineering experience with exposure to longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, projects, planning and scheduling – preferably gold.
  • Exposure to contract mining environments.
  • Demonstrated practical underground experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and mining software such as Deswik.
