Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with a supportive secondary school in Chelmsford, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher with a Biology specialism to join their department on a maternity cover contract starting in June. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high-quality Science lessons, with a focus on Biology, while providing continuity for students during this period.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Biology (KS5 if applicable)
- Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
- Supporting students of mixed abilities to make consistent progress
- Preparing students for GCSE examinations in Biology
- Assessing work and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively within a supportive Science department
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in Biology with strong subject knowledge
- Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school
- A positive, organised, and professional approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with students
