About our Home
At Gold Care Homes, we are proud to be a family‑owned and run organisation with family values sitting at the heart of our care. Since 1999, we have established ourselves as one of the countries leading care providers, growing from one home to our now 45 homes across England supporting over 2500 residents. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team, providing maintenance support across two of our care homes based in Ascot and Uxbridge. The rotation pattern between the two sites will be discussed with the hiring team during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the building and equipment through routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe – e.g. Loler testing.
- Monitor and respond to the fire alarm call, boilers, and lift.
- Make effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair.
- Conduct banking and purchase of small items for the home.
- Maintain the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors to the House including decoration and repair, minor plumbing works, and maintaining the garden areas.
- Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues at the House.
- Maintain awareness of the Home’s policies and procedures especially the Fire Policy.
- Participate in Training and Development as an individual and as part of the team.
- Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on the building layout and fire policies and procedures.
- Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
- Control and ordering of stock and acceptance and checking of deliveries.
- Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
- Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues, and residents.
- Carry out any additional duties as requested.
- Undertake any additional training and development programmes the Home may consider appropriate to enhance your contribution to the work at this home.
- Review on a regular basis the job description for your post and agree on any changes.
