Our newly established 8-bedded residential care home specialises in supporting young individuals with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD helping them achieve their full potential and live fulfilling lives.
We are now recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our team and help us make a difference.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the care home, providing high-quality support to residents while leading and mentoring junior staff. You will be an advocate for the residents, promoting independence and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Support Workers in providing exceptional care.
- Ensure residents receive person-centred care tailored to their individual needs and goals.
- Assist with the development and implementation of personalised care plans.
- Provide emotional and practical support, fostering independence and positive relationships.
- Administer medication in line with policies and procedures.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.
- Support residents in developing life skills, engaging in activities, and participating in the community.
- Carry out key worker responsibilities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
- Act as a role model, promoting professionalism and high standards of care within the team.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
Role Requirements
- A minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in a similar role within the care sector, ideally working with individuals with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- An understanding of safeguarding practices, person-centred care, and CQC regulations.
- Able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
