Gold Care Homes is a well-established, independent care home group for the elderly, operating nationally. Founded in 1999, we have grown to manage 34 care homes across the South of England. Our services include residential, nursing, frail elderly, and dementia care. Our newly established 8-bedded residential care home specialises in supporting young individuals with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD helping them achieve their full potential and live fulfilling lives.

About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the care home, providing high-quality support to residents while leading and mentoring junior staff. You will be an advocate for the residents, promoting independence and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Support Workers in providing exceptional care.
  • Ensure residents receive person-centred care tailored to their individual needs and goals.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of personalised care plans.
  • Provide emotional and practical support, fostering independence and positive relationships.
  • Administer medication in line with policies and procedures.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.
  • Support residents in developing life skills, engaging in activities, and participating in the community.
  • Carry out key worker responsibilities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
  • Act as a role model, promoting professionalism and high standards of care within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the care sector, ideally working with individuals with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices, person-centred care, and CQC regulations.
  • Able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
