About the Chef Position
We\\\’re seeking a passionate and competent Chef to join our team. As a Chef with Acton, you\\\’ll be responsible for overseeing everything that goes on in the kitchen!
As our Chef, you\\\’ll be responsible for many tasks, from ensuring high-quality dishes are served to patrons to managing the kitchen\\\’s budget. You\\\’ll need excellent organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Chef Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and cleanup
- Manage kitchen staff by delegating tasks
- Hire and train all kitchen staff members
- Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines
- Create menus that appeal to customers, including special seasonal menus
- Work alongside restaurant management to price menu items
- Provide feedback on food preparation and presentation
- Inspect food items to ensure quality
- Monitor inventory and workshop ways to reduce food spoilage
- Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, scheduling repairs when required
- Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure goals are being met
Chef Requirements
- 2+ years\\\’ experience as a Chef
- Degree in culinary arts preferred
- Licensure from the FDA as applicable
