About the Chef Position

We\\\’re seeking a passionate and competent Chef to join our team. As a Chef with Acton, you\\\’ll be responsible for overseeing everything that goes on in the kitchen!

As our Chef, you\\\’ll be responsible for many tasks, from ensuring high-quality dishes are served to patrons to managing the kitchen\\\’s budget. You\\\’ll need excellent organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Chef Responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and cleanup
  • Manage kitchen staff by delegating tasks
  • Hire and train all kitchen staff members
  • Ensure all kitchen staff adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines
  • Create menus that appeal to customers, including special seasonal menus
  • Work alongside restaurant management to price menu items
  • Provide feedback on food preparation and presentation
  • Inspect food items to ensure quality
  • Monitor inventory and workshop ways to reduce food spoilage
  • Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, scheduling repairs when required
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure goals are being met

Chef Requirements

  • 2+ years\\\’ experience as a Chef
  • Degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Licensure from the FDA as applicable
  • Excellent multitasking, communication, and organizational skills
  • Superb attention to details
