About Us: Gold Care Homes is a well-established national independent Care Homes group for the elderly. Gold Care Homes was established in 1999 and has since grown to operate 34 care homes across the South of England. The group offers a range of services which includes residential, nursing, frail elderly and dementia care.
We are currently expanding our Estates department and are seeking an experienced Architectural Assistant/ Technician to join our highly successful team reporting to the Development Director.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Production of drawing packs and supporting information for feasibility and planning stages, reporting directly to the Development Director.
- Project scales vary from large masterplans, to multi-unit schemes all the way through to interiors and furnishings. Primary focus on C2 and C3 schemes.
- Visiting a portfolio of sites including care homes and residential properties to survey and draft proposals.
- Dealing with external consultants for submissions and information exchange.
- Primarily working on RIBA Stages 1-3 with some on site experience.
- Opportunity to work directly with the owners and directors in the concept stages of all projects.
- Collaborate with external consultants across a field of expertise / backgrounds.
Requirements include:
- Experience working on multi-unit residential/care projects is useful but not essential.
- Minimum undergraduate part 1/2 qualification with 1 year experience in practice.
- Reasonable knowledge of UK building regulations.
- Good written communication skills and the ability to visualise, illustrate and present ideas clearly.
- Experience across RIBA work stages 1 to 4 desirable but not essential.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Proficiency in Rhino (2D and 3D) essential.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop) essential.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a varied design or technical workload.
- Full, clean UK driving license and own vehicle required.
