About GoingVC
GoingVC was founded in 2016 with the goal of providing individuals with a more concrete pathway into venture capital and has continued to grow into a vibrant organization built around the mission of making venture capital education, investing, networks, and talent more accessible to those with the desire to succeed. We currently run our flagship program, two cohorts per year, as well as the active angel community, GoingVC Angels, for both new and seasoned investors to gain exposure to venture investing. GoingVC is also actively backing early-stage startups through its investment vehicle, GoingVC Partners. GoingVC’s 16-week flagship program is aimed at helping its members take the next steps in their venture capital careers or launch their own fund.
The Role
GoingVC is hiring a part-time, remote Associate Program Manager to join its rapidly expanding community and, principally, support GoingVC’s leadership team with key projects and initiatives in Europe. As the Part Time Associate Program Manager, your primary responsibility will be to support GoingVC’s management team, and by extension the rest of the GVC Team, to help run the GoingVC Europe Program, engage our members, grow our community, and help bridge connections across our ecosystem.
Some projects you might work on could include:
- Creating career-related events targeting the VC ecosystem
- Building and strengthening relationships within the ecosystem by collaborating with and attending relevant events
- Contributing to other strategic initiatives
Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
- Helping manage our European flagship program, including communicating with cohort members and assisting the Program Management team with various cohort programming operations
- Handling a variety of back-office, administrative duties to ensure the GoingVC Program runs smoothly
- Supporting the leadership team on special projects and initiatives with the intent of improving the GoingVC Program
- Keeping GoingVC materials and records up-to-date for each cohort
- Assisting to edit GoingVC content and materials on an ad-hoc basis, including both written and video content
- Tracking and engaging with our members and alumni via call, Slack, or email and supporting them as they go through the GoingVC Program
- Maintaining GVC’s internal structures, organization, and library of resources
- Maintaining and improving GoingVC’s internal VC and startup outreach lists
- Engaging with our network of VC investors and building those, as well as new, relationships over time
- Researching, testing and executing on new ideas and offerings to improve the GVC Program overall
- Helping to oversee and support the work of the greater GoingVC Team and assisting GoingVC leadership to push things over the finish line
Who We’re Looking For
This role is suitable for someone with 2-5 years of experience who has ambitions to continue building their career in and around the European Venture Capital Ecosystem and the startup world over time. With this in mind, successful candidates for the part-time, remote Associate Program Manager position should be able to check many of the following boxes:
Must Haves:
- You are passionate about the mission of GoingVC and are interested in the venture capital industry
- You’re familiar with business productivity tools such as Airtable, Typeform, Notion, Trello, Slack, and Google Drive
- You are very well-organized, detail-oriented, and efficient in your work
- You do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it
- You possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- You value “Inbox Zero” and are extremely polite and responsive
- You are comfortable working independently and remotely - and have experience delivering quality work with little guidance
- You have an entrepreneurial approach to building and addressing challenges
- You eagerly take initiative and go the “extra mile” on projects
- You are highly communicative and can collaborate well with team members through asynchronous mediums
- You are able to adapt on the fly and handle unforeseen developments with ease
- Based in the European space (preferably in an expanding VC market like UK, Germany, France etc.), and available to work on a CET timezone, with occasional border team meetings on US time zones.
