Every child is capable of learning, just not on the same day, or in the same way. I am currently acting on behalf of a SEN school that is seeking a talented and innovative teacher to join their team in September. You will be delivering high quality teaching and learning to students. The school is looking for someone to be committed to their students and being fully involved in the school community. This is an ideal opportunity for a teacher wishing to progress in their professional development with a passion for raising attainment and expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and marking
  • Working with small groups of Key Stage 3 and 4 students
  • ASD knowledge is required

Full time position with pay to scale. QTS or at least 1 year teaching in a UK school is required.

A successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and supporting SEN students. Although SEN teaching experience would be ideal, the more important thing is a desire and enthusiasm for working with SEN children and giving all students equal opportunities. The school is looking for qualified teachers (QTS) or ECTs.

The School:

You will be teaching in a SEN hub that sits on the site of a large secondary school in Bridgwater. The hub is a separate space from the mainstream school; however, they can use the school's facilities if needed. The hub supports ASD students, who all have ECHPs. The hub is seen as a nurturing space where students can really focus on their personal development. Currently, there are 2 teachers within the hub with a further group of TAs supporting on a 1:1 and more general basis. You will be teaching students in small groups; however, some more targeted 1:1 work may be required. You will be asked to plan and mark sessions; however, there needs to be an element of flexibility.
