Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This role focuses on non-customer contact tasks, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of medications and supporting the pharmacy's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing. Perform quality checks on prepared medications to ensure accuracy and compliance with prescriptions.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document all medication preparation and inventory activities. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies related to record-keeping and documentation. Prepare and maintain reports as required by the pharmacy manager.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to medication handling and compounding. Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with pharmacy practices and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy. Provide support for special projects and initiatives as directed by the pharmacy manager. Assist in the training and mentoring of new pharmacy technicians.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: KY Pharmacy Technician Certificate – can be obtained upon hire.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a pharmacy technician desired but not required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 20 pounds). Manual dexterity to handle and package medications.

Work Schedule

Full-time position Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM depending on business needs. NO nights, weekends or holidays.

Benefit Plans to include Medical – PPO or HDHP with HSA card, Dental, Vision, Life, Voluntary Life, Short-term disability, Retirement savings plan: 401(k) Traditional or Roth, PTO (2 weeks/80 hours), Sick (3 days/24 hours).
