We're looking for a Lead Price Comparison Data Analyst to join us on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You'll turn complex data from price comparison websites into actionable insights and compelling stories that drive business decisions, while leading the development and evolution of our Growth-Led Customer Segmentation framework. In this pivotal role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams, across marketing, pricing, digital, product, and trading to uncover opportunities, enhance customer journeys, and fuel growth. Your work won't just live in dashboards; you'll shape strategy, influence direction, and make a tangible difference to performance. You'll be the vital link between data and decision-making, bringing stories to life through trends, patterns, and sharp analysis. Whether you're engaging technical experts or non-technical stakeholders, you'll make the complex simple, the data meaningful, and the insights impossible to ignore.
We're big on flexible hybrid working. Our teams are based across Haywards Heath (West Sussex) and Salford Quays (Manchester). We primarily work from home but value collaboration, so we come together in person to keep ideas flowing, typically once or twice a quarter. Prefer being in the office more often? - Industry Price Comparison Expertise: Proven experience in data analysis or data storytelling with a focus on motor or home insurance price comparison data.
- Data Tools: Experience in SQL, DataBricks, Python and Power BI is advantageous alongside strong capability in manipulating large datasets.
- Stakeholder Management & Influencing: Ability to influence and support stakeholders, confidently managing expectations in a dynamic environment.
- Communication & Documentation: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to create clear, well-structured, and maintainable project documentation and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- You'll be responsible for analysing, optimising and transforming price comparison data into clear, engaging narratives that support new and existing initiatives.
- You'll support the Pricing teams to understand and optimise price comparison data to enhance pricing models and related projects.
- Capture requirements, understand data pipelines which support our retail and technical pricing functions and enable key price comparison data to be tested, optimised and used in the most efficient way.
- You'll support business teams with understanding customer behaviour through our growth-led customer segmentation framework, supporting AB test plans and analysing results while optimising segments to meet business objectives.
- You'll help develop and support the PCW data roadmap while tracking benefits / uplift from the price comparison data roadmap across the Pricing & Proposition pillar at First Central.
- You'll review and provide commercial benefit analysis of any new price comparison data for the business, and support central data teams with ingestion and testing.
- You'll present segmentation data findings and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, driving awareness of customer trends and recommending actionable changes to business strategies.
- You'll comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times.
- You'll ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.
- You'll participate in annual staff appraisal, staff development and in-service training activities in line with the Commercial Data Competency Framework.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Extensive experience working in data analysis or data storytelling roles, analysing motor or home insurance price comparison data.
- Extensive experience coding T-SQL and manipulating large datasets.
- Experience in DataBricks, Python and Power BI advantageous.
- Knowledge of customer segmentation frameworks advantageous.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to create, clearly structure and maintain documentation of projects.
- Ability to decompose complex data into compelling narratives and business insights.
- Passion for analysing and transforming data which allows users to solve business problems.
