The Role

Search isn't just about keywords anymore - it's driven by AI Answer Engines, Generative Search (GEO), Digital PR, and integrated content networks. We're looking for a Director of AEO/GEO to join us on a 9 month fixed term contract where you'll shape and drive the strategy for how our clients get discovered in this new era. You'll own and drive this unified proposition, serving as the strategic bridge between our clients, internal specialist teams, and the fast-evolving tech landscape. You don't need to be the hands-on daily executor of every discipline, but you must be able to talk confidently across all of them, paint the big picture for clients, sell the vision to diverse stakeholders, and strategically deploy our internal subject matter experts to deliver flawless execution. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys shaping a category-defining proposition, operating as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders, and driving commercial growth at the leading edge of search and AI-driven discovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposition Leadership & Strategy
    • Define, evolve, and champion our unified Search and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO/GEO) proposition.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts and markets to co-create and iterate on service propositions, ensuring alignment, buy-in, and technical feasibility across all specialist teams.
    • Connect traditional Organic Search (SEO), Generative AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini), Digital PR, and Content Strategy to create omni-channel visibility.
    • Build methodologies, measurement frameworks, and best practices that allow the agency to deliver and scale these cutting-edge services.
    • Partner closely with Operations and technology leads to validate that commercial propositions are mapped to efficient, scalable workflows within our Seamless suite.
    • Research, benchmark, and prototype new tools, frameworks, and market technologies, making data-driven recommendations and selecting the primary technology stack for performance, scalability, and developer productivity.
    • Drive thought leadership for your specialism, creating high-impact content and playbooks that position Incubeta as a global leader.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary consultant for high-profile clients, helping them navigate the transition from traditional search to AI-driven discovery.
    • Proactively identify and address internal client barriers to adoption, developing flexible workaround strategies or delivering bespoke workshops to upskill client teams and ensure organisational readiness for AI-driven transformation.
    • Comfortably translate and tailor our proposition to different clients, showcasing compelling business value for C-suite relevant stakeholders.
    • Create high-impact opportunities for informal engagement with senior client decision-makers outside of formal business settings, establishing deep commercial rapport and expanding deal sizes.
  • Commercial Growth
    • Partner with markets to pitch, scope, and sell the integrated proposition to new and existing clients, owning the strategic narrative in new business pitches and converting complex technology shifts (AEO, GEO, LLMs) into commercial wins.
    • Formalise the sales process by developing world-class sales collateral and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies and packages.
    • Support the development of value-based pricing models, feeding into the Global Value Pricing Calculator to empower local markets.
    • Partner closely with teams to proactively uncover cross-sell opportunities (e.g. blending SEO with Digital PR and AI measurement solutions) to maximise client retention and organic revenue growth.
  • Knowledge Adaptation
    • Educate, mentor, and empower agency practitioners globally to confidently articulate complex technology shifts (AEO, GEO, LLMs) and commercialise integrated discovery solutions.
    • Maintain a comprehensive, broad-spectrum understanding of the entire AI Visibility ecosystem, acting as a master choice architect who knows when to strategically deploy internal subject matter experts for deep-dive technical delivery.
    • Proactively research and absorb rapid advancements in the landscape, keeping the proposition, packages, and collateral ahead of the curve.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience shaping and owning a search, content, or digital discovery proposition at a senior strategic level.
  • Broad, credible fluency across SEO, Generative AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini), Digital PR, and content strategy - without needing to be the hands-on daily executor of any single discipline.
  • A strong track record as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior client stakeholders, with genuine commercial rapport-building ability.
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches, GTM strategy, and value-based pricing models.
  • Confidence mentoring and upskilling specialist and client-facing teams on emerging technology shifts.
  • Genuine, current expertise in the AI visibility ecosystem, including LLM-driven search behaviour.
  • A demonstrable interest in and ability to produce thought leadership that shapes market perception.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary - We benchmark salaries against the industry to remain highly competitive. Salaries are regularly reviewed and progress alongside your development. Performance-related bonuses are also available.
  • Benefits - A flexible, credit-based benefits package including healthcare, pension contributions, gym memberships, and more.
  • Policies - Forward-thinking policies designed to support a high-performance and balanced working culture.
  • Learning & Development - Dedicated in-house L&D support with structured development reviews every six months, plus ongoing career support to help you progress.
