Health, Safety & Risk Business Partner
£50,000 - £65,000 | Edinburgh Hybrid | 31 Days Holiday
No two days are the same in this role. As the Health, Safety & Risk Business Partner, you’ll work closely with leaders across the business, providing trusted advice and practical support to help health, safety and risk management become part of everyday decision-making.
What does a typical day look like?
- Partner with operational and senior leaders to embed health, safety and risk into planning, design and delivery activities.
- Act as GoFibre’s lead competent safety adviser, providing expert guidance across the business.
- Lead and develop our team of SHEQ Advisers, helping them grow, succeed and deliver consistently high standards.
- Drive a proactive approach to risk management, identifying and addressing risks before they become problems.
- Support safe network build and operational activities, ensuring risks are designed out wherever possible.
- Lead serious incident investigations and ensure learning is shared across the business.
- Work closely with contractors and supply chain partners to raise safety standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion a positive safety culture where people take ownership and feel empowered to do the right thing.
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in occupational and construction health, safety and risk management.
- Experience working within construction, utilities, telecoms or similar operational environments.
- In depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM 2015.
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving positive safety outcomes.
- Team management, with experience leading and developing health and safety professionals.
- Comfortable challenging the status quo and influencing change.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Chartered status, or working towards Chartered membership, with a recognised health and safety qualification.
