THE TEAM
As we continue to grow at pace, we’re looking for an experienced Head of SHEQ to lead our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality strategy and ensure we deliver safely, compliantly and to the highest standards across our build network. This is a senior leadership role with real influence across the business. You’ll set the direction, embed best practice, and create a strong SHEQ culture that supports operational excellence while protecting our people, partners and customers.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
- Lead health & safety, environmental and quality strategy across the business, reporting to the Board
- Ensure CDM Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties are effectively fulfilled
- Drive continuous improvement in SHEQ performance and culture
- Chair the Health & Safety Committee
- Represent GoFibre with key regulators and industry bodies
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, environmental law and quality standards
- Oversee NRSWA, Traffic Management Act and Highways Act compliance for streetworks
- Lead behavioural safety programmes across employees, contractors and supply chain
- Partner with Operations on incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Lead audits, inspections and assurance activities
- Own SHEQ policies, procedures and Business Management System
- Oversee SHEQ induction and training for employees and contractors
- Lead GoFibre’s environmental management framework, including waste, carbon, pollution prevention and biodiversity
- Ensure ISO 14001 compliance and environmental legal obligations
- Champion sustainable, responsible network build practices
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Significant SHEQ leadership experience ideally gained within telecoms, utilities or civil engineering environment
- Successfully developed and implemented SHEQ strategy in complex, operational settings
- In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations and duty holder responsibilities, with practical application at scale
- Proven capability in building, maintaining and improving ISO-certified management systems
- NEBOSH Diploma and CMIOSH membership or equivalent
