About the Role

Goffs-Churchgate Academy, part of the Generations Multi-Academy Trust, is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to join us as Head of Business & IT from December 2026, or earlier. This is a unique opportunity to lead a thriving Business & IT department in a school that is ambitious, innovative, and committed to excellence. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Business & IT education at Goffs-Churchgate Academy, ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality, engaging, and aspirational curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an ambitious and carefully sequenced curriculum across all Key Stages.
  • Lead and manage the department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Monitor and analyse student performance data to identify underachievement and implement effective interventions.
  • Provide coaching and professional development for teachers, enhancing their practice and supporting their career progression.
  • Oversee the effective deployment of staff and resources, including budget management.
  • Act as a role model for outstanding teaching and leadership, inspiring both colleagues and students.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.

Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a related subject.
  • Have a proven track record of leadership in Business or IT, with demonstrable impact on student outcomes.
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the gravitas to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and a solution-focused approach to challenges.
  • Share our belief in the right of every student to fulfil their potential.
