This is a new role we are developing in our team, to support the growth of the company. This role is predominantly Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with flexibility of working evenings and weekends to suit the needs of the service. Driving is essential for this role; Welsh speaking is desirable. Hours: 37.5 hours. Salary: ÂŁ25,000 per annum. On-call paid additional to salary. Any care hours worked outside of office hours paid additional.

1. Purpose of the Role
To ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care is delivered to individuals in their own homes by supervising care staff, maintaining compliance with organisational and regulatory standards, and supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the service.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Care Quality & Compliance: Carry out regular spot checks, competency assessments, and supervisions with care staff. Complete care plan reviews, risk assessments, and outcome‑focused documentation. Ensure all care delivered meets CIW standards, company policies, and contractual requirements. Report and record incidents, safeguarding concerns, and changes in individuals' needs promptly. Support with audits, quality monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Individual Support: Contribute to creating personalised care plans. Build positive relationships with individuals and families, ensuring their voice is central. Respond to concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when required. Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing in every interaction.
  • Staff Support & Development: Provide mentoring, coaching, and on‑the‑job training to care staff. Support new staff with shadowing, induction, and competency sign‑off. Ensure staff follow safe working practices, including medication, moving & handling, and infection control. Promote a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Scheduling & Operational Support: Assist the office team with rota planning when needed. Help ensure calls are covered safely and efficiently, including hands‑on care to suit the needs of the business. Participate in the on‑call rota minimum 1 in 4. Communicate effectively with coordinators, managers, and external professionals.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely records in line with GDPR and organisational policies. Complete visit logs, assessments, reviews, and staff documentation to a high standard. Use digital care systems confidently.

3. Person Specification

  • Essential: Experience in domiciliary care or a similar care setting. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload. Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle. Commitment to high‑quality, person‑centred care.
  • Desirable: QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or working towards). Experience supervising or mentoring staff. Knowledge of CIW regulations and Welsh legislation.
