Background
Gofal Ystwyth Care is a domiciliary home care company, based in Aberystwyth, which provides quality care in the homes of service users across Ceredigion. The company has been registered with Care Inspectorate Wales since August 2018 and currently employs 38 people, with two registered managers and a dedicated team of care staff. We are seeking motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals who would like to join our team of carers who provide care to our service users in their own homes. Competitive pay rate including travelling time between calls, mileage allowance, company uniform and full training are provided.
Job description
- Providing a care service in service users\’ own homes, including (but not limited to) washing and dressing, personal care, administration of medication, and general care/duties.
- Preparing and serving meals.
- Light household tasks.
- Monitoring service users\’ conditions and reporting any changes to the Care Manager.
- Maintaining appropriate records according to company policies.
- Using the Electronic Call Monitoring system to log attendance at service users’ homes.
- Observing the company’s philosophy of maintaining service users’ well‑being in their own homes and abiding by Social Care Wales’ Code of Conduct.
Carers must be familiar with company policies and procedures, particularly the Health and Safety policy, and must be aware of the employee’s own responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act. Comprehensive training will be provided by Gofal Ystwyth Care and also third parties. Carers also undertake a period of work shadowing when they are paired with experienced colleagues until they are comfortable in their role.
Carers undertake runs of calls in the Aberystwyth area (driving licence and own vehicle required), and these can be tailored to accommodate e.g. university work or childcare arrangements. Part‑time and full‑time posts are available.
