VA544 – Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse

In this riverside village nestled in Southwest London, home to the starting point of the annual Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race is our popular first opinion GP Putney clinic. The growing team are looking for a part-time RVN to help assist with day-to-day practice life.

About your new role!

Our Putney practice location has a true London ‘village’ atmosphere, just a short walk from the River Thames, Putney High Street, and Putney Station.

Our Putney team includes 1 senior vet, 1 associate vet, a Senior RVN we are currently recruiting for, and a fantastic clinical support team who have a passion for building strong bonds with their established client base, so the team is looking for an additional part‑time RVN to complete our perfect practice puzzle!

You will have the full support from a dedicated regional manager, and OOH care is provided by our Stone Lion 24‑hour hospital just a 15–30‑minute drive away.

Feedback from the team in Putney expresses how genuinely great their client base is in the area, and as a bonus are largely insured!

In addition to your 2–3‑day week rota is a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Saturday rotation at the Stone Lion Hospital, plus 1 bank holiday per year at the hospital.

As a branch RVN some of your duties will include:

  • Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.
  • Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.
  • Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.
  • Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary.
  • Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.
  • Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone.
  • Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Our RVN salary band is £32,000 to £35,000 (full-time equivalent based on a 40‑hour week) depending on experience while allowing room for growth within the role.

We would of course be happy to explore increased or full‑time hours across the commutable region if you wished.
