About the role

A brand-new opportunity for an organised, responsive and detail-focused HR Administrator to join the Human Resources team of a unique manufacturing organisation in central Birmingham.

Working in a friendly team environment, you will play a key role in delivering a professional and supportive HR service, supporting managers and employees across a wide range of day-to-day HR activities.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include

  • Providing timely, accurate HR information and support to other departments.
  • Preparing HR documentation and completing administrative tasks efficiently and to agreed timescales.
  • Managing the end-to-end onboarding process for new starters and internal moves, helping to ensure a smooth and positive employee experience.
  • Administering and monitoring probationary period reviews.
  • Monitoring contract expiry dates and managing the administration of fixed-term contracts.
  • Assisting with the updating and maintenance of HR systems.
  • Supporting the administration of the holiday and absence booking system.
  • Completing employee references as required.
  • Assisting with the maintenance and filing of personnel records.
  • Actively contributing to continuous improvement across HR processes.
  • Ensuring HR matters are handled effectively, accurately and on a timely basis.

About you

We are looking for someone who is

  • Highly organised, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • A strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build positive working relationships with colleagues and managers.
  • Confident in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Able to demonstrate good negotiating skills.

A recognised HR qualification would be desirable but is not essential. Knowledge of employment law and company rules and regulations would also be advantageous.
