This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial & Enterprise Manager to lead and develop the school’s commercial activities and maximise income from non-core operations. As Chafyn Godolphin enters a new chapter following the merger of Chafyn Grove and Godolphin, this role will play a key part in supporting the school’s long-term sustainability through innovative commercial thinking, strategic partnerships and exceptional service delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Finance & Operations, Director of Marketing & Admissions and colleagues across the school to develop a diverse and ambitious portfolio of commercial opportunities. Areas of responsibility include:

  • Externally run residential summer lets
  • Regular bookings/events held throughout the year
  • Hire of sports facilities throughout the year, including the swimming pools
  • Externally run holiday day camps
  • Commercial use of the Performing Arts Centre
  • Oversee the growth, and optimise the profitability, of existing non-core commercial activity
  • Develop, review and maintain pricing levels for all commercial hires and lets. This will include clear guidance on any concessions
  • Identify product/market opportunities and develop new revenue stream opportunities in conjunction with internal colleagues

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant professional experience, with a proven track record of successful leadership in a senior management role. You will have a strong record of driving income generation and developing long-term strategies for commercial growth. This role requires excellent commercial awareness, experience of developing and aligning business cases, setting budgets and performance targets, monitoring progress against objectives and reporting to senior leadership.

You will be proactive, entrepreneurial and strategically minded, with the ability to plan workloads and projects effectively, work independently and take ownership of key initiatives. You will also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, enabling you to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A positive, solution-focused and flexible approach is essential, together with the confidence to make decisions, evaluate performance and pursue continuous improvement.
