Do you have experience operating agricultural machinery, particularly tractors? Are you looking for a seasonal role working for the world's largest horseracing operation? If so, you might be the ideal candidate to join our Grass Gallops team at Godolphin Stables in Newmarket. We are recruiting for a full-time, fixed-term tractor driver to support our team from April through to October. This role is 40 hours per week, and weekend work is completed on a rotational basis during the busy summer racing season to meet the requirements of the Company Trainers (roughly 1 in 3 weekends, with time given back in lieu to be taken in the following week).

Key tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating tractors for a variety of maintenance tasks across the gallops and grounds.
  • Mowing duties to maintain turf to the required standard.
  • Managing irrigation systems.
  • Repairing divots and undertaking general turf restoration work.
  • Applying pesticides safely and responsibly, in line with relevant guidelines.
  • Strimming and maintaining grassed areas.
  • Conducting Verti-draining, scarification and other aeration processes to promote turf health.
  • Rail repairs and maintenance.

  • Proven experience operating tractors to a high standard
  • Good understanding of health and safety principles
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Experience of irrigation systems is a bonus
  • PA1 and PA6 certificates are desirable but not essential
