A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Senior School Nurse to join the school from September 2026. The Medical Centre is integral to the School community and is designed to meet a wide range of day to day needs such as the physical needs of pupils and the administration of first aid, as well as helping pupils who are in need of emotional support. The Medical Centre also provides assistance to members of staff.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about working with young people. They will have a relevant nursing qualification, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong capacity for working as part of a team.
This is a full time during term time role, which includes working the week in which each term starts and ends. The contractual working hours will be between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am and 5.00pm on a Friday to ensure cover of the Medical Room. Additional hours will be required on occasion, for example for attendance at parent meetings or seminars in the early evening, and, where necessary, communication out of hours to ensure the welfare of the students.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience. The safeguarding responsibilities of the post include: All staff working in the School during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In this role you are likely to be regularly working directly with, and be responsible for, children in your care. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
