Role Overview
The School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and appropriately experienced Registrar to join the School as soon as possible. This is a full‑time post, reporting to the Head. The postholder will have wide‑ranging responsibilities relating to the admission of pupils to the School.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the admissions process for 11+ and 16+ entry, and for occasional vacancies.
- Deliver admissions and induction events.
- Liaise with a range of staff from different departments, maintaining strong working relationships, particularly with the Assistant Registrar.
- Maintain an office‑based role with Monday to Friday hours (8:00 am–5:00 pm during term time, 8:00 am–4:30 pm during school holidays).
Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of schools, particularly in the independent sector.
- Relevant experience in a school environment.
- Excellent communication and ICT skills.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment.
Benefits and Work Conditions
Salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience. 28 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays and a two‑week Christmas closure.

Safeguarding and Compliance
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media accounts, as part of their application. All staff working in the School during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In this role you are unlikely to be working with children directly but will regularly interact with pupils who may seek your assistance or otherwise interact with you when moving around the school. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
