Senior School Nurse – Permanent, Full time during term time. For September 2026. The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country's leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. The School's facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Senior School Nurse to join the school from September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and clinical governance in the Medical Centre, including administration of first aid and treatment of day-to-day pupil health needs.
  • Offer emotional support and welfare assistance to pupils; provide and coordinate health-related information and guidance as required.
  • Assist members of staff with health-related queries and contribute to a safe and supportive school environment.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote pupil health and wellbeing.
  • Cover the Medical Room during term time, including working the week in which each term starts and ends.

Requirements

  • Relevant nursing qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong capacity for working as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about working with young people.

Terms, Hours and Salary

This is a full-time during term time role, with contractual hours between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8.00am to 5.00pm on Friday, to ensure cover of the Medical Room. Additional hours may be required for parent meetings, seminars in the early evening, and out-of-hours communications to ensure the welfare of the students. The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.

The School may ask applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) to assess suitability to work with children.
