The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six‑acre site in Hammersmith, London. The school offers excellent facilities and outstanding academic results.
We are seeking a suitable, qualified and experienced Assistant Librarian to join the school on a permanent and job‑share part‑time basis from September 2026. The role will involve supporting the Librarian, maintaining the library environment, and working with students and staff during term time.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining an appropriate learning environment and ensuring the library is welcoming, clean and well‑stocked.
- Responding to queries from students and staff and assisting with library lessons.
- Cataloguing, identifying and making available further resources, including books, e‑books, audiobooks and databases.
- Superseding the library at scheduled times and working on a rota basis.
The library is open Monday to Thursday 8:00‑7:00 pm and Friday 8:00‑6:00 pm on a rota basis. Working hours for the Assistant Librarian are Monday‑Thursday 2:30‑7:00 pm and Friday 2:30‑6:00 pm during term time.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. As the role involves working directly with children, a DBS check will be required. The job is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and applicants must declare all convictions and cautions.
