Welcome to Roaring Stone Lion! Our 24-hour hospital nestled in Wimbledon has the opportunity for a junior vet, who after completing their VetGDP and grad scheme may be looking to step into a GP hospital role.

Here is what we offer you:

  • The salary band for this GP role is £40,090 to £45,365 depending on experience and allowing room for growth within the role.

About the role:

This 42.2 hourly week role inclusive of weekend rotation (1:3 Saturdays and 1:10 Sundays) will involve working across numerous departments within the hospital, giving you the optimum all-round experience until you pinpoint any areas of passion that you would like to explore!

You will be rota’d to up to 2 bank holidays per year, and there are NO on-call requirements.

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital offers a well-rounded caseload of routine procedures, emergency, and critical care, as it not only has its own first opinion client base but also supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases that require hospital expertise.

The hospital also provides specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, dermatologist, and physiotherapist. Stone Lion is equipped with everything you would expect from a 24-hour hospital and are now offering laparoscopic spays. We are an RCVS Accredited Hospital and hold an ISFM Silver Award for Cat Friendly Clinics.

Our new team member will ideally have previous hospital experience, have completed their VetGDP, and be able to perform routine GP surgeries including smaller bitch spays and dentals. You will of course have a team around you if you need support.

In Stone Lion Hospital you will be fully supported by a team of experienced vets, an ever-growing team of RVNs, trainee nurses and clinically experienced on-site management, as well as our fantastic regional head vet.

The Hospital is located in the heart of picturesque Wimbledon Village, just a 10-minute walk from Wimbledon Junction station which is on the district line and enables you to get to all the hot spots of London!
